What NC has announced for the global version, newest first, and which pages of this guide each post changes. The dates and hours in the launch schedule come from the top three.
Launch Scale Test ends; Early Access and launch dates set
The test is over and nothing from it carries over. Early Access runs 30 September to 4 October and the official launch is 5 October. Steam players must uninstall the Playtest app and download AION 2 separately; PURPLE players need do nothing. Direct player-to-player trades are disabled as an anti-bot measure, and members in good standing join a priority queue when a server is full. (From Steam announcement: Launch Scale Test Comes to a Close: What's Next?)
NC answered the common questions on Steam: eight languages, servers in North America, South America, Europe and Japan, the global version is being developed for PC only, and it is playable with a controller while full controller support is still being evaluated. (From Steam announcement: Steam Pre-release FAQ)
A two-day open test on Steam and PURPLE, 17 and 18 September, six hours a day, with the level cap held at 37 and everything wiped at the end. (From Steam announcement: Launch Scale Test Coming Up)
The monthly membership costs $15 for 30 days, works for every character on the server where it was bought, and can be bought at most three times per server per month. It opens buying on the Market, the World Market and the Kina to Quna exchange. (From NC notice: New Product Info: Special Quai Membership)
Three packs, Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate, each with five days of Early Access from 30 September. One pack per account, usable only on the launcher it was bought on; cosmetics carry no stats. (From NC notice: New Product Info: Founder's Pack)
Early Access servers open first for Founder's Pack owners; Launch servers follow on launch day, and anyone can join an Early Access server that is still open. Elyos and Asmodian servers are separate and meet in the Abyss, and the cross-server market is not there at the start. (From NC notice: Early Access: How It Will Work)
NC laid out how the global version makes money: free to play, a $15 monthly membership that unlocks the Market and the Kina to Quna exchange, a shop of cosmetics and consumables, per-character battle passes, and Founder's Packs. (From NC notice: Team Update (the business model))
