Best PvE class in AION 2
There are two answers, and which one matters depends on what you want from dungeons. If you want groups to invite you, play a Templar, Cleric or Chanter: only two classes can tank and two can heal. If you want the biggest numbers, the Sorcerer tops the latest Korean damage charts and the Ranger is the most reliable.
How a party is built
A party holds up to five players. The Korean party finder lists each class under the slots it can fill, and the usual group is one tank, one healer and three damage dealers. That is where the demand comes from: only two classes can fill each of the first two slots.
Tank usually 1
Templar is the main tank; Gladiator can fill in.
Healer usually 1
Cleric heals most; Chanter heals less and buffs more.
Damage usually 3
Six classes compete for these.
Three damage seats in a usual group and six classes that can take them is why a damage dealer waits longest. A Cleric player asking on the first day of global Early Access whether the class was worth it got this answer:
“Clerics are always needed and are the most loved Class in the Game.”
Is a tank or healer really required?
Korean-server players are split. Most guides say harder dungeons and raids need a Templar and a Cleric. Others say a geared group of damage dealers clears most content without either, and even they make an exception for the largest raids. For a new character on a fresh global server, where nobody is geared yet, the first view is the safer bet.
Damage, class by class
From the most recent Korean damage charts, averaged over the newest dungeons and raids. The spread is narrower than tier lists make it look: players who read the damage databases put the gap between the top and bottom class at the endgame median under 15%.
- SorcererTop of the most recent Korean damage charts across dungeons and raids, but fragile.
- AssassinBest in short fights where it can stay behind the boss.
- SpiritmasterStrong in long fights, and the least played class, so there is room at the top.
- RangerThe steadiest: rarely first, almost always in the top few, and mobile for mechanics.
- GladiatorHighest on a training dummy, closer to the middle once a real fight moves around.
- ChanterMid-table damage of its own, plus buffs that raise everyone else's.
- TemplarClose to the Gladiator, which is a lot for a tank.
- ClericThe lowest; nobody brings a Cleric for its damage.
The hard dungeon, by the numbers
The higher-difficulty ranked dungeon, run as a group, on the Korean and Taiwanese boards before NC took its official leaderboard offline in September. The score is each class’s average standing in that mode.
The Gladiator and Assassin lead here, while the Cleric sits last, which says more about who does the damage in a party than about who is worth bringing: most groups still take a healer into hard dungeons.

Which to pick
- You want groups to find you: Templar or Cleric, or the Chanter if you would rather buff than heal full time.
- You want damage without the fuss: Ranger, which stays near the top in every kind of fight.
- You want the top of the chart: Sorcerer, and accept that it dies easily.
The dungeons themselves, from the first five-player runs to the raids, are on the dungeons page. Solo content ranks the classes differently, as best solo class shows, and the class finder weighs group play against the rest.
