AION 2 dungeons

AION 2 has more than 200 dungeons in three formats: solo, 5-player and 10-player. In the Korean version the rewarding ones pay out through Odyle Energy, a recharging resource you spend at the end to open the loot, and the global membership notice shows the same system is coming.

“Over 200 dungeons span multiple formats: solo challenges, 5-player party content, and 10-player group dungeons.”

The dungeon types, as the Korean version runs them

NC has not published a global dungeon list. Its English membership notice already names three types, Expedition (with Exploration and Conquest modes), Transcendence and Sanctuary, so those names are official. The others below are plain translations from the Korean guide.

TypePlayersWhat it is for (Korean version)
Sealed dungeons and garrisonsFound in the open worldDungeons scattered over the world map, found by following question-mark markers. Titles, wing feathers and statues; garrisons add enhancement scrolls.
Daily dungeonsNot statedScore-attack runs with 14 attempts per week per server. Enhancement stones, pet boxes and Kina.
Awakening battlesSoloClear every area against a timer, then the boss. Seven difficulty settings; the list changes weekly.
NightmareNot statedStraight into boss fights over ten stages, with a season ranking. Two attempts a day, storing up to 14.
ExpeditionUp to 5The standard party dungeons, in Exploration and harder Conquest modes, plus a weekly Trial mode.
TranscendencePartyHarder than Expedition, set from stage 1 to 10, ranked. Main reward: Arcana.
Sanctuary10Raids with the toughest fights and the best loot, gated by item level.

In Korea, Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary also let Elyos and Asmodians join one party. Whether global allows it is not confirmed; see Elyos or Asmodian.

Odyle Energy: why a clear is not the same as loot

In the Korean version, beating an Expedition’s final boss opens a reward cube, and you spend Odyle Energy to claim it. Without enough energy you get nothing, and you either wait for it to recharge or use a recharge item. Players who fall short of a minimum contribution in Expedition or Transcendence get no cube at all. Putting in more energy at once costs more and pays more.

The global membership adds to this. From NC’s benefit table:

“When opening reward Cubes from Expedition (Exploration/Conquest), Transcendence, or Sanctuary, Odyle Energy can be injected twice”

(From NC notice: New Product Info: Special Quai Membership)

Without membership it is once. The membership also raises the Odyle Energy cap, by an amount NC says it will announce later. The rest of what membership does is on membership cost, and the Korean limits on how much Kina repeated runs pay are on Kinah and Quna.

Finding a group

“During the Early Access period, players match for parties across all Early Access servers in a given geographical region, so finding a group is never limited to a single server.”

(From NC notice: Early Access: How It Will Work)

At launch the pool grows to include the Launch servers in the same region too, so friends on different servers can still run dungeons together as long as they share a region. The four regions are on regions and servers.

The Korean party finder lets the room leader ask for roles when recruiting: Templar or Gladiator as tank; Cleric or Chanter as healer; and Gladiator, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster or Chanter as damage. Gladiator and Chanter each appear in two lists. If you want to be picked up quickly, the class page explains what each role asks of you.
